UK Member of Parliament Priti Patel criticized the “mindless” violence targeting Hindu minorities in Bangladesh and called on the government to guarantee their safety and religious rights.
As a Conservative MP and former Shadow Foreign Secretary, she pointed out the instability and attacks on religious places, urging both the Bangladeshi and UK governments to take action.
In a parliamentary meeting, Patel and other MPs showed support for the affected diaspora and voiced concerns about the violence, including the arrest of a leader from ISKCON, especially given the increased global worries following the departure of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina August.
