American billionaire Elon Musk has said he supports the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party before the February elections.
The AfD is now in second place in the polls and could make it hard for a majority government to be formed. However, Germany’s main parties have promised not to work with them. Musk wrote on X, “Only the AfD can save Germany.”
These elections are happening after the center-left coalition led by Chancellor Olaf Scholz fell apart. Musk, who is expected to give advice to US President-elect Donald Trump, has also supported other far-right parties in Europe before. The German government noticed his statement but didn’t say anything else about it.
