He disagreed with the idea of postponing Ukraine’s entry into NATO and argued that the plan was trying to make European forces handle the conflict. Lavrov said, “Their idea is to delay Ukraine’s NATO membership for 20 years and send British and European peacekeepers to Ukraine,” and made it clear he was unhappy with these proposals.
