Donald Trump, who was about to become president, didn’t like the idea of keeping American flags halfway down the pole to honor former President Jimmy Carter during his inauguration on January 20.
After Carter passed away on December 29, President Biden followed the usual rules and ordered flags to be lowered for 30 days.
On Truth Social, Trump said that Democrats were happy about the flags being at half-mast during his inauguration.
He thought this showed they weren’t truly patriotic and mentioned that it would be very unusual to have flags at half-mast when a new president inauguration..
