A passenger plane in South Korea crashed after hitting birds during flight.

On Sunday, South Korea experienced its worst aviation disaster when Jeju Air flight 7C2216, coming from Bangkok, crash-landed at Muan International Airport.

The plane hit a wall and burst into flames, killing at least 177 people. There were 175 passengers and six crew members on board. Two crew members were rescued, but two others are believed to have died.

Videos showed the Boeing 737-800 sliding without its landing gear before the crash. The rescued crew members are in serious condition and receiving treatment.

Officials are looking for bodies and trying to determine the cause, which could include bird strikes or bad weather. This is the deadliest incident for a South Korean airline since the 1997 Korean Air crash.
