SHORT:
India’s foreign minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, said in Doha that the BRICS countries do not plan to weaken the U.S. dollar.
This came after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump warned BRICS members, which include India, Russia, and China, not to create a new currency or support anything that could replace the dollar.
Trump threatened to impose 100% tariffs on countries that don’t follow this rule.
