The Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS) has asked U.S. President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump to push Bangladesh to Protect its Hindu minority.
In a letter sent on November 27, 2024, FIIDS showed worry about increasing human rights abuses, especially after Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari was arrested on charges of sedition.
Since Sheikh Hasina’s government ended on August 5, there have been more than 200 reports of violence against Hindus, including attacks on temples.
FIIDS President Khanderao Kand wants an independent investigation and has asked Biden to support Das’s release and better protection for minorities in Bangladesh.
