On December 13, 2023, the Army and Assam Rifles found a Starlink satellite internet device in the troubled of Manipur.
This discovery raised worries about mational security, as it could be used by rebels. Starlink, made by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, provides internet through satellites in low Earth orbit, even distant places.
The device was found during a joint operation by the Army, Assam Rifles, and local police in several areas, including Imphal East, Chandel, Churachandpur, and Kangpokpi.
