SHORT:
Romania’s constitutional court has canceled the first round of the presidential election, which was supposed to be followed by a second round in just a few days.
This means the whole election process needs to start over, and a new date for voting must be set. Calin Georgescu, a far-right candidate who is not a fan of NATO and supports Putin, won the first round.
The court’s decision came after classified intelligence documents were made public, showing that Georgescu might have been helped by a foreign influence operation trying to change the election results.
