The Afghan Foreign Ministry is happy about Saudi Arabia’s decision to reopen its embassy in Kabul, which is the first one to do so since the Taliban took over in 2021.
The Saudi Embassy said it is ready to work again and is dedicated to helping the Afghan people.
Zia Ahmad Takal, a spokesperson, hopes this will improve the relationship between the two countries and solve problems for Afghans living in Saudi Arabia.
Even though the embassy has reopened, no country has officially said the Taliban is the rightful government of Afghanistan, although some still have diplomatic connections with them.
