Saudi Arabia’s Big Goal to Buy 100 High-Tech Fighter Jets.

Two countries are talking about strengthening their defense partnership, according to a report by Caliber.Az, citing Turkish media. Haluk Görgün, the head of the defense industry, met with a Saudi delegation in Istanbul.

The group included Khaled bin Hussein Al-Biyari, the Deputy Defense Minister, and Turki bin Bandar Al Saud, the Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force.The three-day discussions are centered on important projects, such as the KAAN aircraft.

Saudi Arabia is planning to buy 100 of these jets. Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) is working to deliver Türkiye’s first locally made fighter jet, the KAAN, within five years. This will replace the older F-16 fleet.

The KAAN is a fifth-generation jet with stealth technology, two engines, and can reach speeds of up to Mach 1.8.TAI is also developing a more advanced version of the KAAN, which will be a sixth-generation jet featuring artificial intelligence (AI) and high-tech sensors.

This puts Türkiye at the cutting edge of global technology. The KAAN project has attracted attention from countries in Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe.
