Zelensky Asks Where Putin Will Go After Assad Leaves.

On December 10, which is Human Rights Day, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke out against the very bad things Assad has done to Syrians.

He talked about the terrible things that have been found out about how people were treated in Syrian prisons after Assad. He said government was very cruel and compared it to other governments supported by Putin, where similar very bad things happened in places controlled by Russian forces.

Zelenskyy condemned Russia’s violence in Ukraine, emphasizing suffering of Crimean Tatars and marginalized groups since 2014, and addressed oppression in the Donbas, particularly at Izolyatsia prison. He expressed solidarity with Syrians fleeing Assad’s prisons, labeling both Assad and Putin as complicit in violence.
